Department of Health – Abu Dhabi Honors Prof. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has honored His Excellency Prof. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi, Director General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cancer Patient Care Society – Rahma. The honor comes in recognition of the Society’s efforts to ensure the success of the Department’s annual cancer awareness-raising campaign, which is effective in raising societal awareness on the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, while enhancing the concept of public health to create a healthy society. H.E. Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohamed Al Hamed, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, presented the honor to Abdullah Salem Al Kaabi, Director General of Cancer Patient Care Society – Rahma. Mr. Al Kaabi received the accolade on behalf of H.E. Prof. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi during an event to honor strategic partners in combating cancer organized by the Department on September 30, 2019 at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers Hotel – Abu Dhabi. On the occasion, H.E. Prof. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi said: “The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi’s recognition further increases my enthusiasm for hard work and for greater efforts in the service of our dear homeland.” His Excellency added: “This honor clearly confirms that the UAE leadership is keen to consolidate the values of giving, achievement and dedicated engagement.” His Excellency also emphasized that he greatly values the tireless efforts of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi to develop the health sector in the Emirate. H.E. Prof. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi explained that the Cancer Patient Care Society – Rahma is focused on serving UAE society, interacting closely with different national initiatives in order to ensure their success and realize their objectives. Concluding, H.E. Prof. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi said: “I make a solemn promise to the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates, to demonstrate greater efforts, excellence and creativity, as well as offering support for all national initiatives.” As part of its activities, the Cancer Patient Care Society – Rahma organized the Cancer Awareness Forum, in cooperation with Zulekha Hospital, on October 1, 2019. Held in the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Hall at the ECSSR complex in Abu Dhabi, the Forum saw cancer experts educate attendees about the disease, emphasizing the importance of emotional and psychological support when treating cancer patients. In addition, cancer patients and survivors shared their experiences and stories of fighting the disease.
